- Keep it slow and steady: There are no speed limits for when the snow is falling. Know your vehicle, and keep it at a reasonable speed when driving in icy conditions. It is recommended to even keep your vehicle below the speed limits to ensure you have enough reaction time to slow down, stop, and turn.
- Drive with Necessary Equipment: Make sure your vehicle is stocked with the proper equipment in cases of emergency. Simple items like an ice pick (assuming you leave your car out in the snow for long periods of time) can ensure you have a full view of visibility when maneuvering on the road.
- Watch out for Other Drivers: Although you may be confident in your own driving abilities, it does not mean that others are. Pay extra attention to what other drivers are doing so you can improve your reaction time. A split second reaction could make the difference.
