Family of Elizabeth "Lizzy" Robertson-Rutland Retains Walton + Brown, LLP As They Seek Answers in Daughter's Death

Columbus, Ohio (October 8, 2019) – The family of Elizabeth “Lizzy” Robertson-Rutland has retained Attorneys Sean Walton and Chanda Brown of Walton + Brown LLP to investigate her death as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on September 18, 2019. Lizzy was an 11-year-old Sherwood Middle School student who was struck and killed by at least one vehicle on McNaughten Road in Columbus, Ohio. Authorities believe that Lizzy was also struck by a second vehicle, though that driver did not stop at the scene and has not yet been located.

The accident occurred while Lizzy was walking to her school bus stop around 6:23am. There are no sidewalks or crosswalks along the busy, two-lane street that Lizzy was required to walk along on her way to the bus stop. Residents have told The Columbus Dispatch that they worry about students who live in the neighborhood and must walk along McNaughten Road to catch buses during dark morning hours, citing dangerous vehicle speeds and the lack of pedestrian visibility.
